It would be an overstatement for me to suggest that I feel any remorse for things I write or say about those of you on the "right." (remind me to discuss oxy morons after I am done discussing morons) There is, however, an apparent need to clarify exactly who I refer to when I unleash the relentless verbal assault on "Republicans." So this is for those of you who may have felt unfairly lumped together with enemies of liberty like w. just because you consider yourself a republican.
Most likely any negative reference to the right or republicans in general, should be understood as applying to the current administration (w), and/or those that own them (Halliburton) and/or those that voted for them (Greg) (Just kidding Greg), and/or those that maintain the illusion of legitimacy surrounding them. (FOX)
While I may specifically make negative remarks about true republicans in the traditional sense (ie: Isn't it ironic that after Reagan told congress that "I can't recall" repeatedly, it ended up being true in the end?) I assure you these are just differences of opinion. (You say trickle down economics, I say that means piss on the poor) Some of it can be perceived as mean spirited (The Reagan routine is unforgettable) But thats all in good fun, like his AIDS policy. In no way should you equate my jovial banter here with the pure vitriolic hatred I reserve for w's clan (i mean KLAN)
I was raised in a republican household, where economic and military strength were the primary concern, and for right or wrong, both were considered better handled by republicans. Republicans in the Nixon, Goldwater, Reagan tradition believed in strong foreign policy and strong economic policy, and there is an argument to be made on their behalf. (Not a good argument, but an argument)
I challenge a states rights republican to support w's policies on same sex marriage. I challenge a Reagan republican to support his doctrine of pre-emptive first strike. I challenge a Goldwater republican to support his economic policies that have resulted in deficits so large they render numbers incomprehensible.
Nixon was a crook, plain and simple. Reagan, a liar who traded arms for hostages. But thats expected of the GOP. But this administration....simple Murderers.
