The City Market is conveniently located a half a block away from The Gay Steps, and Bel-Cruise Court apartments. For those not familiar, the Gay Steps is home to the largest concentration of my people of any complex in Seattle, followed closely by the Bel-Cruise.
It was very convenient then that after having dinner with Gustavo, I could stop and grab Ice Cream before heading to Kenny and Archie's.
Convenience is just one of City Markets many positive attributes (Wine Selection, Porn Collection, Goose says their Vegan meals are excellent....) And the checkout folk, well they are funny.
"Have you tried the Dave Matthews Magic Brownies yet?" he asked as he scanned my Vanilla Fudge Brownie pint. I answered that I had indeed, but wasn't a huge raspberry fan, and really liked "One Sweet Whirl" better, but that Ben & Jerry's had stopped making it. "Why is it that they make flavors only for that genre? Cherry Garcia, Phish Food?" he asked.."When are they gonna come out with something for like Mega Death?"
It did get me thinking. I appreciate that as a company Ben & Jerry's supports progressive causes, and creates things like Phish Food for bands with similar philosophies. Maybe that's just not enough though. What if they went a step further and made a flavor for "I think we should stand behind our president" Britney Spears. Call it "Britney Berry" or something.......and make it taste like regurgitated Raspberry Margarita thats been mixed with 5 month old milk.
Or does she leave a bad enough taste in our mouth already.
